It pains me to write this but how can I not having suddenly lost a dear first cousin and frankly a best friend in the passing of Richard “Dickie” Bradbury. Richard was one of the good one's, humble, a gentleman through and through. Richard was selfless by nature, his first concern was always that of his family including his wonderful and loving wife Christine, his two boys Lee and Dean (whom he loved to the edge of the world and back), his grandchildren and of course his dear sister Carole Talmage. An exceptionally good friend to many and a strong supporter of the Andover Central Club, Richard always made time for those less fortunate, proudly a Bradbury trait. A man of integrity Richard always carried himself as a proud man who recognized that he was fortunate to be a husband, father, brother, grandad and friend to many. He never asked for anything in return and remarkably never spoke ill of those he interacted with. Gone are the smiles, the quick wit, the genuine friendship and the kindness he offered so many. While his passing is a sudden and unexplainable loss I take some slight comfort truly knowing the many memories he left behind. I reside in Canada and of course Richard in England and while we didn’t get to see each other as often as we would have liked, when we did see one another time magically seemed to stand still as we re-acquainted our selves. Those bonds of love as cousins and more importantly as family will never be forgotten. I thank you Richard for those memories and will treasure the many pictures that solidify our good times through the past 56 years. I hope that your family while understandably shattered, will likewise take comfort in the many strong character traits you left behind. That legacy correlates to the positive impact you had on others fortunate enough to know you. As my father, Richard’s uncle would say “you passed this way and for that we are grateful”. While it breaks my heart it needs to be said………job well done, rest easy my friend we will take it from here! Never ending love Michael and Lisa, Nicholas, Colin, Kristin (Nash and Brooks) and Devon and Kelsey
